LaSalle was awarded a general contract to renovate 10,000 square feet of the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA). This area was designated to house the laboratories in which art conservators work to preserve art for the DIA and other institutions throughout the country. The project consisted of the construction of seven laboratories and two x-ray rooms equipped with the latest technology to aid in the investigation and authentic restoration of art pieces. The project also included complete mechanical, electrical and chemical exhaust systems.
